A Different Kind of Warm

There seems to be quite a bit of damp weather across the nation, and as the picture illustrates, my area is not exempt.  Can you spot the fresh snow line beyond my lilacs?  Frankly, I love it, it's beautiful!  My peas and little onions are having a fabulous time outside soaking up the water, and I am having a great time inside warming the house with the oven.

The oven is the point of my post today.  As we head into summer, one of the things on my mind is seeing to the cleaning of the oven before it's too hot.  I use the self-cleaning feature on my oven which heats up the kitchen area when I use it.  So, about this time of year, when the temperature takes it customary, albeit temporary, downturn, I get that oven clean.  It warms up the house on a damp day while allowing me to check the chore off the list.  My oven finished cleaning about 2 hours ago and I already have a loaf of bread inside baking.  Good stuff!

Have a happy day!
